Excavating The Reno

Beneath the grass on the corner of Moss Lane East and Princess Road, Manchester lies a famous Moss Side basement club, The Reno. The club was demolished in 1986 but in 2017 before the site was re-built on; playwright Linda Brogan, was keen to create a hub for fellow club-goers to gather and share stories and memories of the iconic nightclub.

A diary of the excavation project was ultimately created, all funded by the Arts Council England. A brand identity as well as a website to post updates, share memories and tell the story of the people and club was created. The success of the brand and the website led to a 6 month residency exhibition at The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, nationwide coverage in the Press as well as various reunions of long lost friends and acquaintances.

What was delivered:
• Art Direction
• Brand Identity
• Website
• Exhibition Design
• Merchandise
